Please kill that user name, dude.
Why would you do that? So many shows? Why so jaded then? Do you know how lucky you are? Sorry you feel that way about Donna Jean. I and many others (Jerry Garcia included) felt quite the opposite of the sentiment you arrogantly share with your choice of user name. Give it a rest, man. Ain't no time to hate....
Loved this run, this might have been the best show, this or the 27th. One of the better Shakedown's, I saw so many excellent versions but this stands out after '79, along with new years the next year and philly and merriweather '85. This is absolutely the best source of this show, to capture the nuances of the interplay between the boys. So glad I saw so many shows, thanks for the efforts with this site.

the downside of soundboards
most of the time, a soundboard trumps a traded tape. but there's an electricity in the air at this show, evident on the aud recordings, and markedly absent here. this is a helluva show - amazing singing, playing, intensity, teamwork. but you have to hear one of the fine auds on the archive to get the whole story. the soundboard is just too sterlie. maybe because i heard an aud first and then came back to the show to compare.
